Mass Casualty
Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly important that Alaska prepare for a mass casualty event. The Department of Public Safety participates in statewide preparedness efforts, through the Alaska Victim Assistance Partnership (AVAP), along with federal partners including the FBI and the Office of Victims of Crime.
If an incident has occurred, this abbreviated application should be used.
Crime victim compensation plays an integral part of the response, particularly in this time of crisis. In the event of a mass violence incident the Violent Crimes Compensation Board will contact the response coordinating agency and any other relevant Alaska based and federal mass casualty response team participants to streamline the flow of information and resources to victims and their families.
