Billing and Payments
Before a provider can receive payment from the Violent Crimes Compensation Board (VCCB), the provider must register as a “vendor” with the State of Alaska and the product or service must have been approved by VCCB. If you are unsure if your product or service is approved, please contact our office.
VCCB is a payor of last resort. Please ensure other available sources of payment must have already been applied to the bill, this includes but is not limited to: Denali KidCare, Medicaid, Medicare, Veteran Affairs, private healthcare and dental insurance, workers’ compensation and auto insurance.
VCCB strives to issue payments within 30-60 days from submission of a bill when a payment is already determined eligible. Delays typically occur if there is a question of eligibility or other sources of payment available.
Copies of bills must include:
- The patent/client’s name
- The name of the payee (if partial payment was already covered)
- Dates of service
- Type of service provided
- The license number of the treating or supervising service provider if seeking mental health treatment
- Confirmation that insurance has been billed, is not available or is not accepted
Providers may submit a bill via fax, secure email or mail.
